Carondelet High School in Concord, CA, recently underwent an extensive building and security lighting upgrade, with Pharos Architectural Controls selected by partners, Prizm Lighting, to provide controls on the project.
Green Energy Products, an ESCO (Energy Services Company) installer, selected Prizm Lighting as its lighting and technology partner, after working together on multiple installations.
The brief was to swap all existing fixtures throughout the covered walkways and install floodlights to highlight the trees in the courtyard. The control system, which had to be interfaced in one building while being housed in another, was required to utilise the existing intranet as the primary infrastructure.
A Pharos Designer TPC (Touch Panel Controller) was selected to deliver the project’s specifications and create a seamless upgrade to the client’s requirements.
The Designer TPC is an elegant touchscreen lighting controller with sleek styling, an advanced lighting control playback engine and a fully integrated user interface, with vast design potential, enabling the client to specify their exact requirements on-site. With control of playback selection and lighting levels at their fingertips, users can gracefully transition between scenes, timelines, effects and pixel-mapped media. The customisable touchscreen user interface allows the creation of multiple pages of lighting controls, with configurable appearance and immediate visual feedback.
The controller also hosts a custom web interface with controls and the school’s logo, accessible remotely via a tablet on the school’s wireless network.
The end result is a beautiful courtyard, bathed in colour-changing lights that highlight and accent the mature trees that have been incorporated into the space, creating a better learning environment for the school’s students.
