An impressive contemporary chandelier within an atrium that connects office spaces has become a fascinating feature thanks to dynamic lighting control by Pharos Architectural Controls.
Visible from the street, the chandelier at 637 Flinders Street in Melbourne’s Central Business District can be illuminated in different customised colours to match celebrations and calendar events. This is made possible with DMX control through a Pharos Designer TPC (Touch Panel Controller), which was specified by lighting controls solution provider Lightmoves.
The TPC is an award-winning solution from Pharos, offering both an elegant 4.3” capacitive touch screen and a lighting controller in one compact unit. The TPC offers sleek styling and an advanced lighting control playback engine, with a touch screen user interface that is fully customisable using the free-to-download Pharos Designer 2 software.
Lightmoves have also linked the Pharos Designer TPC with the existing Dynalite system to share building-wide triggers.
Using the TPC, the RGBW fixtures in the chandelier can be customised with pre-programmed schemes and dynamic lighting effects that can be scheduled in advance to run automatically. Local operators can also use the TPC to choose lighting look overrides including the interface’s colour wheel to control the colours manually.
The striking chandelier was supplied by Darkon.
Simon Liberta, Technical Sales/Lighting Control Specialist, commented: “The chandelier at the Flinders Street office development is very eye-catching, and the ability to illuminate it in a dynamic way makes it even more noticeable. The Pharos Designer TPC is a great choice; as it is easy to use, and offers both pre-set timelines and the freedom of real-time manual overrides.”
The client has already been putting the presets to good use; relating to football team colours, as well as holidays and significant events.
