Features and enhancements introduced in the v2.6 release.
VLC+ support: Completing the feature set for support of our forthcoming controller.
New Designer features exclusive to the VLC+ include:
- Additional Content Targets per Composition
- Content Target rotation
- Adjustment targets allowing a mask to set RGB & intensity gain
- Layer masking with roundness, feathering and image import for custom mask shape
- Single transition trigger for content target and adjustment target
VLC groups: A new group concept exclusively for managing the huge number of fixtures associated with VLC and VLC+ layouts. These groups can be used for patching and layout purposes but are not available for programming.
VLC enhancements: A number of improvements to layout and mapping for the VLC. These include:
- Change fixture type on Layout
- Show true centre mode for displaying pixel positions when using Transform Tools
- Initial content target blur as property of content target
- Set RGB action to apply to VLC
- Special settings for VLC fixture templates
VLC presets: More presets have been made available to the VLC:
- Colour, Dynamic properties
- Random Colour
- Colour Chase
- 2D Burst
- White
Timeline Audio Output (beta): Stored audio files (and video files containing audio) can be placed on a timeline for fully synchronised audio playback utilising all our standard show control functionality, supported via Stereo line out and SPDIF on the LPC X (R2 only), VLC and VLC+ hardware.
Timeline Audio Simulation: Synchronising programming to external audio is now more powerful, using the same functionality as the new Timeline Audio Output, regardless of controller type.
Direct Control: For RGBA, RGBW and other multi-emitter fixtures with more colours than just RGB, this feature allows control of discrete channels, rather than using RGB algorithms. Users can tune desired static colours with sliders in the Scene tab by selecting between the colour picker and Direct Control. These scenes can then be dropped onto a timeline or triggered directly.
DALI: The latest DALI implementations include the support for the next Type 8 fixture – DALI RGBWAF, support for composite DALI fixtures and a new Generic DALI folder in the Designer and online libraries. We have also added Direct Colour control for DALI RGB and DALI RGBWAF fixtures via Scenes.
Designer Enhancements: We continue to make improvements throughout the software, with some of the highlights in v2.6 including:
- Toolbar change: The Manage popup now incorporates Properties, allowing faster editing and comparing of object properties in Layouts, Scenes, Timelines and Interfaces, also for DALI Scenes and Interfaces.
- Timeline groups: increased to 8
- Hue Tables: improved calculations for converting RGB to RGBA, RGBW etc
- Simulate: now supports colour temperature simulation
- TPS: now supports a simple web interface page to display device status, and to allow firmware reload and project upload.
Director new features: Continuing development of our city-wide schedule and content management tool, new features include:
- Preview mode for simulation of media in Panorama
- User access levels
- Edit mode for customisation of Override tab
- Background colour and images for the override page and buttons
- User-defined ordering of playlists
- Playlist toggle to start and release playlists
- Controller feedback of playback state
