Meet the Pharos team

Amit has 15+ years experience in IT. He has travelled widely, working in a variety of roles throughout Asia, North America, and Europe. More recently, Amit has focused on software development, testing and automation. He began working with Pharos in September 2022, supporting Test Automation and Quality Assurance for the full range of Pharos products.

Bas has had an interest in lighting since childhood. He worked at Philips (now Signify) in their early DMX days and travelled the world commissioning their 100+ universe projects. Bas has been working with Pharos controllers since 2008, and in 2015 started at Pharos. In his role as Architectural Market Manager he is the main point of contact for larger customers, and with his experience actively contributes to the development roadmap.

Chad began his career in the theatre by earning a lighting design and production degree. He quickly turned toward lighting design and programming for themed environments, multi-media shows, and architectural projects. He discovered and utilized Pharos controllers beginning in 2012 while working on a series of permanently installed entertainment and fountain projects. Chad brings a diverse entertainment lighting background to Pharos and supports customers as Sales Manager for the Americas.

Chris is one of the Pharos co-founders, and has been the Managing Director since 2015. He is responsible for managing a growing international sales team, as well as overseeing and ensuring the successful day-to-day operations, logistics and finance functions of the company.

Clarence comes from a development background, having originally worked in the R&D team for the Pharos product range. He joined the Product Management team in 2019 and is now the Product Manager for the whole Pharos Designer range. You’ll see his writing in various places around the website, but most notably in the Tips and Tricks where he shares what he has learned through years of working with the Pharos software.

Dan started at Pharos at the beginning of 2019, providing technical support for customers and the technical delivery of trade show stands. He has a background in theatre, film and television, and concert touring, specifically in control and network distribution.

Dominic joined Pharos Architectural Controls in August 2022 to provide technical support to customers and partners. He has a background in electrical engineering and audio-visual installations, working on projects in various locations worldwide. In his spare time, he plays the bass guitar for 80’s melodic rock band Shaft of Steel and is an avid outdoorsman; when he’s not solving support cases, he can be found hiking and climbing in the mountains.

Jack has a history in music/festival lighting, and a degree in Lighting Design. He’s been involved with Pharos since October 2011, starting out as a support specialist and most recently working on the development of the Expert range and Pharos Cloud. In his current role as Product Manager (Expert & Cloud) he manages the spec and feature roadmap of those products, as well as technical communications regarding them.

Liz has over 30 years’ experience in lighting, initially with regional and university producing theatres, then touring with Rambert Dance Company. She joined Pharos as Product Manager in 2005 after previously being in product management for entertainment controls at ETC. Now as Associate Product Manager Liz’s focus is backstage, rather than customer-facing, supporting the Product team to deliver enhancements and new products across the Pharos portfolio.

Marco has a marketing degree and over 20 years experience in the technology sector. His career to date has been in Distribution, where he’s had the unique opportunity of working with many of the world’s best known consumer electronics brands. Marco joined Pharos Architectural Controls in 2021 as Marketing Manager with the specific aim of building the Pharos brand whilst helping the company achieve it’s growth targets.

Mark joined Pharos in 2012 after many years of sales and distribution management experience working for well-known entertainment technology brands. As Regional Manager for EMEA, Mark has spent his time at Pharos building a broad and robust network of Pharos partners throughout Europe and the Middle East, helping to provide local sales and technical support for the Pharos product range, across a wide range of iconic and world class architectural projects.

MG came to Pharos in 2018, first as a Technical Support Specialist, then a Technical Sales Manager and now Regional Sales Manager for the Americas. He supports our manufacturer partners with sales and complex project integrations. Recently, MG was appointed to the Employee Council, representing the remote team.

Nathan joined Pharos in 2012. He has a background in moving head and LED lighting, project management (lighting supply, install and programming), maintenance and technical support. As Product Support Manager for Asia Pacific, he provides customers in the region with sales and technical support for all Pharos products.

Richard was a founding director of Pharos and now serves as its non-executive Chairman. He is also CEO of Brompton Technology. Richard has been involved in theatrical lighting design in West London for many years, and was the Chairman of the Board of Trustees for the Questors Theatre, the largest amateur theatre in Europe, for seven years.

Ryan has been at Pharos since 2015 and currently works in a hybrid position that merges the responsibilities of Sales Manager for the UK and Technical Project Specialist globally. Ryan has previously worked to provide comprehensive technical support to Pharos’s partners on complex, high profile projects such as special city-wide installations. He also has detailed programming, installation and integration knowledge on Pharos’ products and systems.

Simon came into the lighting industry through theatre lighting design, moving into software development for lighting control systems. Over the course of his career he has worked across the full product development lifecycle, supported various landmark lighting installations worldwide, and has served on the boards of cloud software companies working in the lighting and AV space.

Thomas joined Pharos in 2009 and now has over 30 years’ experience in theatrical and architectural lighting control. He successfully helped launch Pharos products in the Americas and established numerous important partnerships with customers in the region. As International Sales Director, Thomas oversees the highly skilled global Pharos sales team. He enjoys tinkering with LED technologies, programming and DIY projects.

Tim began working at Pharos in 2007 in the role of Technical Support Specialist. Subsequently he moved into technical sales and after a short time became the Sales Manager for the UK. In addition to his sales role, in 2017 Tim was promoted to Global Support Manager, overseeing all aspects of technical support and customer care. In his spare time Tim is often found designing lighting for productions across West London.

Tom joined Pharos in 2022 after over ten years working as a Technical Product Manager at Electronic Theatre Controls. After discovering a passion for technical event work at university, Tom worked for a variety of Lighting, Audio and Pyrotechnic companies in a variety of capacities, before moving into the world of development and product management. He specialises in networking for lighting controls, and is the author of several open-source diagnostic tools for lighting systems.

Tony joined Pharos in 2013 to establish Pharos operations in the Asia Pacific region. With a background in theatrical, entertainment and architectural lighting he had many years’ experience with Pharos prior to joining the team. Tony has worked on numerous landmark projects during over 20 years living in Asia, so understands the challenges of architectural lighting projects. He works closely with our partners, lighting designers and end users in the region.

Will is one of the Pharos co-founders, and has been involved in the development of all Pharos products. He started in theatrical lighting design, moving into development of control systems. Over the course of his career he has designed and developed a number of iconic products for lighting, stage machinery and video. He still finds time to write software whilst managing an expanding R&D team.
