    Understanding the Patch Navigator

    21 November, 2019

The Patch Navigator is a useful and powerful tool during commissioning if you need to find or identify a fixture.

Let’s imagine an occurrence where you, as the technician, are looking to find and select different instances of a fixture that you have patched. In the view above, you can see that there are 4 fixtures patched with multiple instances.

If you select your fixture either in the patch table or in the fixture browser, there will be this tool enabled at the top of the view:

Once this tool has been enabled, clicking the Next or Previous button will cause a single patch instance to be selected, and cause the main view to jump to show the universe that the fixture is selected in, as well as providing additional information. Clicking the buttons further will jump to the next or previous instance:

By selecting the fixture in the Fixture Browser or on the Layout, this tool can simply be used to find its single patch instance too, saving you from having to search through every universe.
