Clients often want to make changes to lighting programming, whether it’s for special events or simply to refresh the design. But once a lighting installation is already up and running, making new changes – or even investigating issues – can incur time, financial and environmental costs by having to send a skilled technician to site.
Pharos Cloud offers simple, secure remote lighting installation control and management, from any Internet-connected device, anytime, anywhere in the world.
Why use Pharos Cloud?
Here are just a few reasons why Pharos Cloud is the right choice for your remote management needs:
Upload from Designer
Connect Pharos Designer to your Cloud account and upload directly over the Internet from anywhere in the world
An online scheduler allows you to program tasks to run at the right moment – and update this when required
Control Panel Access
Build a multi-page control panel for end users to easily recall tasks, from PC, tablet or mobile
Fire Device Triggers
Access each devices’ list of published triggers to fire them directly from Cloud
Control Multiple Projects
Control multiple Pharos Cloud Sites with your single log-in, with one or more devices per Site
Ease of Setting Up
Connecting your controller to cloud does not require any IT skills, it is as simple as pressing a button
Offline Status Reporting
Controller status information is stored on the Cloud servers, so problems can be diagnosed remotely even if controllers go offline
No Additional Hardware
Just connect the Pharos controllers to the Internet via their Ethernet port. Cloud supports all Pharos controllers that are compatible with Designer 2
Pharos Cloud functionality
Many remote management tasks can be conducted with Pharos Cloud, with more being added over the coming months. Existing functions include:
View system status
View status of integrated system via IO modules
Low bandwidth requirements
Adjust hardware settings remotely
Set remote user permissions
Works over any internet connection
Getting access beyond the local network doesn’t have to involve additional skills or hardware, or potential security risks from a misconfigured network. Setup of Pharos Cloud could not be simpler – controllers are plugged into the Internet, using industry-standard encryption. Once connected, users can access controllers remotely via the Pharos Cloud website, from any internet-connected device, anytime, anywhere in the world.
Simple, Powerful, Intuitive
The Pharos Cloud solution has been designed to manage and monitor Pharos controllers remotely. From the simple, yet intuitive user interface, you can manage all your Sites, add Users, set Permissions, see the Status of your controllers, fire Triggers and much more (depending on you plan).
Your projects in Pharos Cloud are organised by Sites.
Each Site can have one or more controllers, with several different users and permissions. You can sign up for a Cloud Site at any time, even before purchasing a full Site Plan. Head to the Sign Up Now tab to register your details, and we’ll set you up with a new free Cloud Site to explore and add your controllers and devices to during the installation phase of your project.
Getting devices setup in Cloud makes them available for quick and easy activation when you or your customer is ready. We call this the Construction mode of your Pharos Cloud Site, where you start adding controllers and devices.
Once you are ready to activate the full features of Pharos Cloud, have your Site owner sign in and click on ‘Activate’ in the Site settings. Your Site will be moved to the Active mode. A purchase order is necessary to maintain the Site in Active mode (within 7 days).
Without a paid subscription, after 7 days your Site will revert back to the feature-limited Standby mode indefinitely or until we receive a purchase order for a Site plan to re-activate your site. Please refer to the table below to understand the features difference between the three Site Modes.
A Site Plan refers to the subscription for an individual Cloud Site.
We offer different Site plans for different projects depending on the number of controllers and accessories used per Site. Pharos controllers that are part of the same Site can be at different physical locations and running different Pharos Designer project files if you wish. This gives you a lot of flexibility, e.g. if you have several smaller installations for the same client and want them all to run from one Pharos Cloud Site rather than investing in separate Sites for every installation.
Having separate Sites can be beneficial when there is a need for different owners to be financially responsible for the Site plan and/or a group of devices that require a completely different group of users to have access.
Every Site has a 7 day trial after activation for you and your clients to enjoy the benefits of remote management before making a financial commitment.
Pharos occasionally offers extended trials: contact us via the form on the Sign Up Now tab to discuss your request.
The Pharos Cloud Online Help includes a quick start guide as well as comprehensive documentation on all aspects of Pharos Cloud.
The Networking Guide details how to configure your network if you are are operating on networks with restricted access to the Internet.
The Pharos Cloud Video Tutorials provide step by step examples on key aspects of using Pharos Cloud.
