Safari Resort, Beekse Bergen

Accentuating the path with an African sunset and moonlight effect, giving special attention to the areas where the animals are present on this Safari Resort.

In addition, to create a lighting design for the entrance of the building and surroundings. Making the entrance more striking as the central hub of the entire resort.

• The aim was to schedule general lighting that is based on the previous design which included Philips CK Graze and Blast fixtures.
• Keeping the animal’s welfare in mind, the light used as a savannah backdrop can be seen in the dark and contributes to the African experience. The moonlight concept uses low light levels and does not interfere with the animal’s vision.
• Attention is drawn to the entrance of the building using the light as a ‘funneling’ technique, the building exit shows an African sunset which is imitated with light.
• The moonlight effect is created by illuminating different locations in the park from above, the light sources are hidden so that you see the light effect but not the light source.
• The light effect controlled by a Pharos TPC is visible from sunset, set by the intuitive Pharos Designer programme the colour displays as a light red then gradually adjusts to a darker – red, purple and then to blue and finally to light.
