Southbank Centre, London
Southbank Centre is a world-famous, multi-venue arts centre overlooking the Thames. The familiar glass pyramids on the Hayward Gallery roof have been turned into a work of art in their own right.
- A spectrum clock shows a range of colours over time. Starting and ending the hour with a vivid red, solid colours appear at different points throughout the cycle.
- The pyramids were fitted with 76 x RGB LED battens which were created specifically for this project by WhiteLight.
- To control the fittings, WL installed a new equipment rack in the Switch Room along with 2x ISTL Thor 36 LED channel drivers.
- The LED drivers were controlled by a Pharos LPC 2. The fixtures were driven in 16 bit mode to consistently deliver fine control of the various colours and ensure the smoothest fade transitions.
