Women Writing History at E-Luminate Festival, Cambridge

2018 e-Luminate festival commemorating women writing history with this interactive and innovative lighting installation at Trinity Hall, University of Cambridge, celebrating the 40th anniversary since the admission of female students and fellows into the college 

• LED lights shone onto the river and were conducted via Twitter.
• Animation displayed a series of waves and the light effect was controlled by participants tweeting #male #female #nonbinary.
• The most tweeted hashtag determined the colour of the light.
• The Pharos LPC received over 800 data hits with, the percentage was split, 40% female, 31% male, 23% nonbinary and 6% for a random hashtag, disco, which did not impact the lighting.
• Using lighting as a tool to engage people with an imaginative exercise about the remembrance of women’s role in writing history.
