With a presence in seven countries across the Middle East, and approximately 50 million active customers, Kuwaiti mobile telecommunications specialist Zain is one of most eminent telecoms brands in the region.
At the Zain headquarters in Seef, Bahrain, the external lighting had first been installed in 2010 and was due an update. Elames, the lighting division of the building finishes specialist Behzad Group, appointed Pulsar to provide the LED lighting for the upgraded scheme. After completing a survey of the building, Pulsar specified a range of LED technologies to illuminate the headquarters, as well as bringing Pharos into the project to deliver control systems for the dynamic lighting.
The brief was to deliver a highly-visual, energy-efficient LED lighting system that spanned the building façade. The Pharos system offers an integrated method of control for Pulsar’s solution. A Pharos TPC (Touch Panel Controller) and Pharos LPC 4 (Lighting Playback Controller) control a huge number of Pulsar LED fixtures, including over 500 Pulsar Chroma Strips – slim-line RGB strip lights that highlight the exterior architectural features and outlines of the Zain building.
The TPC is an elegant touch screen lighting controller with a customisable 4.3” touch panel. It offers control of playback selections and lighting levels at the touch of a button, allowing for seamless transitions between scenes, timelines, effects and pixel-mapped media.
The Pharos LPC 4 is an all-in-one control solution for themed entertainment and LED lighting installations. It allows for fully-customisable pre-programmed lighting effects with the freedom of real-time manual overrides and the versatility of powerful show control and integration features.
The content for the LED elements is played via a Pharos VLC (Video Lighting Controller), which was specified and configured by Sensory Interactive.
This project marks another successful partnership for Pharos, bringing Pular’s dynamic lighting to life with seamlessly integrated lighting control. The Zain building now boasts beautiful modern façade lighting and makes a striking addition to the Seef skyline.
