Global tourist attraction Madame Tussauds opened its first wax museum in Singapore in October 2014.
The attraction, open 364 days a year, includes the first ever Madame Tussauds boat ride The Spirit of Singapore. The ride travels through a fantastical garden and stylised cityscape, with several lighting and sound effects triggered by the boat’s position.
Experience Lighting was responsible for the complete lighting design and on-site focusing of the attraction, with Bizlink Lighting supplying and installing the kit. The design incorporates 700 Concord Beacon track spotlights and many DMX controlled effects – RGB LEDs, moving lights, and wind and smoke machines. The Madame Tussauds attraction lighting system is controlled by two Pharos LPC 4s and one TPC with EXT.
Riku Pirtilä, Asst. Lighting Application Specialist with Bizlink, said; “This was my first project commissioning and programming with Pharos products. With a little introduction, any engineer can grasp the basic programming needed even for complex projects like The Spirit of Singapore boat ride.”
