The Wonderkamers, situated at the Gemeentemuseum Den Haag (Municipal Museum in The Hague) is a game-changing exhibition that expertly utilises the interactive nature of Pharos’ control solutions. Local experts in lighting design and show control Rapenburg Plaza worked with Pharos to design the lighting and AV/show control system for this award-winning installation.
Five Pharos LPC 1 controllers expertly manage the multiple elements of the display including interaction with a Medialon server and separate game server. Various RGB fixtures, LEDtiles, Par spotlights, strobe lights, Philips Hue and different custom made items are programmed in a dynamic way to synchronize with multiple movies and also with a movement or a specific choice of game player.
The thirteen rooms and miniature museum each have their own specific lighting design and are programmed to bring the visual arts to life through a computer game that places the individual visitor at centre stage. All players are given their own tablet that works as a show controller for the room they are playing in.
The Pharos controllers’ ability to facilitate game management as well as interact with UDP messages from QR code readers present an ideal solution to the complexities demanded by the exhibition’s requirements. Combined with Rapenburg’s established expertise in AV and show control, this has resulted in a unique visitor attraction that offers a fresh and entertaining introduction to fine art.
