London Bridges, London
Individual lighting sequences applied to six landmark bridges in the heart of the city, adding illumination and colour to the Thames whilst saving energy.
- Lighting designed by Paul Cook and commissioned by the Mayor of London and local boroughs to support London’s celebrations during the 2012 Olympics
- Golden Jubilee Footbridge, Waterloo, Blackfriars, Millennium, Southwark and London Bridge are fitted with Colour Kinetics and Aquila DMX LED fixtures, with each bridge controlled by a Pharos LPC
- The original equipment was installed on a temporary basis, but then the decision was made for the light shows to remain in place permanently as a legacy of the games
- Each bridge runs an individual lighting sequence, but all bridges run a synchronised effect every hour
- Lighting was also coordinated with seven existing and six new Pharos installations on riverside landmarks, including Tate Modern, HMS Belfast, Globe Theatre and OXO Tower
