Matagarup Bridge, Perth

The elegant Matagarup Bridge over the Swan River in Perth, Western Australia was built to provide a pedestrian link between the city centre of Perth and the new multipurpose 60,000 seat Optus Stadium. The modern design of the bridge echoes a winding motion to reflect all the curves and motion of the river.

  • Standing and impressive 65 metres tall, the 400m wide bridge is required to illuminate to an ever-changing community calendar, with varied event days, colours and interactive animations
  • Over 800 metres of Philips Colour Kinetics Graze linear fixtures were installed on the white arches of the bridge all controlled by a Pharos LPC X
  • Appreciated day and night, the bridge provides a visually interactive experience that follows and seems to flow seamlessly with the river
