CityLink Sound Tube, Melbourne

Designed over 20 years ago the CityLink Sound Tube in Melbourne was constructed as a noise buffer, shielding the surrounding areas from the constant buzz of traffic.

  • The iconic CityLink tunnel carries over 210,000 vehicles every day from one end of Melbourne to the other.
  • Electrolight’s design to upgrade the existing lighting scheme within the tunnel was to articulate the unique elements of the sound tube design using the latest in lighting technology.
  • Concealed RGBW fixtures light up the vertical face of the girders
  • A Pharos LPC controls the lighting, providing an infinite selection of colours and combinations and allowing for programmed themed content all year round.
